Building Better Brains
This one-day power-packed conference will provide focused learning on Brain Growth and Development, Social and Emotional Success, Creating Meaningful Learning Opportunities, and Leadership Development. You will leave the conference with ideas and activities to implement the minute you walk back into your classroom.
Here is an overview of what we will be covering:
-
Session 1:Â Building Better Brains - Discovering The Dragons
The human brain is consistently receiving input from the outside world. Positive and negative circumstances form our outlook on the future and our response to current situations. How do we know what has affected our life journey? In this session, we discover the âdragonsâ that make our brains drift into negative spaces. We will discuss practical solutions to regain self-control over our personal situations so that we can overcome hurt and find lasting help and healing. -
Session 2:Â Managing The Mess - Classroom Management Essentials
The classroom can quickly become âmessyâ without implementing specific strategies. What are the magical strategies that can be implemented? In this session, we will look at the importance of using visual schedules, timers, restorative language patterns, teachable moments, and more. You will discover strategies that will help your day run like clock work, and promote a healthy learning environment that is calm and creative. The brain thrives with predictable routines and patterns, which promote a well-managed classroom. -
Session 3:Â Creating Discovery Bins - Spring-Themed Discovery Bins
Discovery Bins promote curiosity about language development and new concepts. When the brain is in discovery mode, it is growing new neural connections. In this session, we will discuss how to create a Discovery Bin using simple and practical toys, craft supplies, and recyclable items. We will look at scientific research on the importance of promoting discovery and fueling creativity to make learning experiences rich and meaningful. -
Session 4:Â Launching Leadership - Increasing Intentionality and Growth
Are you intentional in reaching your daily goals and lifelong dreams? How do you intentionally help your young learners reach their milestones? Learning the power of the brain and intentionality is key to success! Together we will discuss the gaps that hold us back from being intentional, and define ways that we can bridge the gap from âgreat ideasâ to daily success.
